Research into Kyrgyzstan

The Girl who cried a lake
A story that comes from Kyrgyzstan told to Sally Pomme Clayton by Valentina Tourabekova who shared many tales of the Kyrgyz landscape. This story stood out to me as it is about a love that is denied because they come from different standings, one is the daughter of a big clan and the boy is just a rouge hunter. I also liked how the ending wasn’t a happy ever after as to be together they had to change form and become the land. The main female tires to defy her father and be with her love but when forced to marry another she changes her form into a lake where she will no longer suffer.
